Process electrification: discover five case studies of projects that have already been implemented!
Electrification is a key driver of decarbonisation for the industrial sector, particularly in France, where the electricity mix is largely decarbonised. Solutions exist and are ready to be implemented. However, despite this significant potential, projects are still struggling to get off the ground.
To help overcome these barriers, the ALLICE Alliance is publishing five project factsheets that analyse feedback on electrification initiatives across a range of energy-intensive sectors: metallurgy, textiles, construction, glass, and tiles & bricks.
To facilitate the roll-out of electrification, each project is analysed in terms of its replicability.
Removing barriers to the electrification of industrial processes
Having published a forward-looking public report in 2022 on the potential for electrification of industrial thermal processes, the ALLICE Alliance is publishing project factsheets in 2025 aimed at making electrification initiatives within the industrial sector practical and replicable. These factsheets aim to demonstrate that electrification is feasible in a wide variety of scenarios, even within energy-intensive sectors.
Detailed project fact sheets covering all aspects of an electrification project

The five project factsheets have been designed to be easy to read and to address all the questions manufacturers may have regarding the implementation of this type of project.
They set out in detail:
- The production process in question,
- Work carried out: installation of electrical equipment,
- The decision-making criteria taken into account for the successful completion of the project,
- The project timeline: implementation / schedule / funding,
- The results observed: estimated savings in energy and CO₂.
Each fact sheet also highlights the replicable aspects of each project so that manufacturers can easily identify areas for action.
