This is a highly diverse programme, as it covers three distinct areas of focus, led by dedicated working groups (WGs), which address the key challenges faced by manufacturers and the various profiles of our members, representing the entire decarbonisation value chain.

· Study 50 – Barriers and drivers to the roll-out of demand response with or without storage solutions (market study)
This study aims to analyse the mechanisms for balancing the electricity grid (demand response and storage) in order to improve the cost-effectiveness of electrification, whether full or partial, through hybridisation. It will provide a market analysis of electricity storage and thermal storage at industrial sites, carrying out economic analyses based on different consumption profiles.
The research report sent to members will be accompanied by an Excel spreadsheet for carrying out economic simulations.
· Study 51 – Diversification of the energy mix: comparison of options and prioritisation (technical and economic study)
ALLICE has already carried out several studies to analyse various levers for decarbonising the energy mix: electrification, the integration of carbon-free gases, renewable energy and recovery, etc. Given this diversity, how can one choose the most suitable solutions for decarbonising an industrial process? How can one take into account the specific needs, technical constraints and economic context of a particular site?
The aim of this study is to develop a framework for prioritising solutions to guide the discussion, in line with the PACTE Industrie training programme on this subject.
· Study 52 – Energy optimisation and decarbonisation of the distillation process (technical and economic study / state of the art)
Distillation is one of the major energy-consuming processes in many industrial sectors. ALLICE aims to catalogue and compare decarbonisation solutions for distillation columns.
This work will focus on case studies in key sectors (food and drink, chemicals, pharmaceuticals and petrochemicals) in order to identify the best available technologies and ongoing innovations.
· Study 53 – Adiabatic cooling applied to industrial premises (technical and economic study)
Adiabatic cooling, an alternative solution for cooling industrial premises, helps to reduce the demand for cooling associated with air conditioning, particularly during periods of extreme heat – which are becoming increasingly frequent and can lead to production stoppages or complaints from staff.
This study will review existing technologies and analyse the constraints, equipment sizing issues and costs, with a view to developing a calculation tool to assess the IRR of the cooling system.
A flagship study has also been identified and will be carried out by ALLICE during 2026.
· Scope 3 decarbonisation: industrial REXs
According to the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol), a company’s greenhouse gas emissions are categorised into three scopes:
Scope 1: direct emissions associated with the company’s operations.
Scope 2: indirect emissions linked to energy consumption.
Scope 3: other indirect emissions, both upstream (purchases, transport, waste, travel, leased assets) and downstream (distribution, use and end-of-life of products, franchises, investments).
To date, ALLICE’s studies have focused primarily on Scopes 1 and 2. However, in certain industrial sectors, such as the agri-food sector, Scope 3 emissions can account for a significant proportion of total emissions (up to 80 per cent).
The study therefore aims to identify pioneering initiatives to decarbonise Scope 3 emissions in industry, and then to analyse and highlight their results and lessons learnt.
