3rd ALLICE Congress: a leading event for the decarbonisation of industry
With an international focus, the 3rd edition of the ALLICE conference, “Decarbonising industry: ramping up for 2030 and beyond!”, took place on 23 and 24 September 2025, bringing together over 300 participants, 75 French and European speakers and around ten partners.
Two days to explore all the challenges involved in decarbonising industry
The programme, organised across three rooms, provided an opportunity to explore all the drivers of decarbonisation in depth and to foster discussion, featuring numerous practical case studies from industrial sites (Lafarge, Grundfos, Vicat, Villeroy & Boch, Mersen, Tarkett, Owens Corning, Cristal Union, Eramet, Sanofi, Duqueine, Terreal, Roquette…), around ten start-up pitches, hands-on workshops and presentations of roadmaps.
In addition to technical measures – energy efficiency and waste heat; alternative energy sources, from biomass to nuclear power; electrification; thermal storage; artificial intelligence; carbon capture and storage; industrial symbiosis… – cross-cutting themes were also proposed: how can we transform our value chain and engage stakeholders? What are the non-energy benefits of decarbonisation? How can we transform energy-intensive industries?
Prominent speakers to open and close the conference
Finally, the contributions from Pierre-André de Chalendar, President of La Fabrique de l’Industrie, and Alexandre Monnin, author and philosopher, complemented the pragmatic talks by offering insights into a long-term vision: What are the financial consequences of climate change at company level? What role does renunciation play in a new ecological direction?
A success in terms of numbers, but above all thanks to the technical expertise shared throughout these two days, which was widely highlighted by the participants. The quality of the programme – developed over nearly a year by our scientific team, which rigorously selects pioneering projects and innovative technologies – attracted numerous industrial operators. With a strong presence at the events, they found at ALLICE events not only tried-and-tested solutions to accelerate their decarbonisation efforts today, but also ways to plan for achieving their 2050 targets, a space for informal discussions with their peers and partners who can support them.
